Let's talk about the going rate for warehouse associates in the greater sacramento area right now. Currently, we're experiencing warehouse associate positions starting at $15 an hour, but really 16 to 17 is what you want to consider. If you want to fill that position quickly with #qualifiedcandidates, does that mean you won't find someone at 15? No, of course not. But you need to take into account what you're getting at each #payrate increment. $15 an hour right now for a warehouse associate, you will be receiving an entry level candidate with little to no #warehousing experience. It might be someone who was laid off due to covid. It might be someone changing industries or someone who's been out of the job market for a long time, and it's just getting back into the swing of things. At that $16 an hour position, you're looking for someone with good quality experience in a warehouse setting. You're going to find someone who has built their skills through acquiring experience, who's ready now to find the company that they want to stay with long term. At the $17 an hour rate for a position, you're going to find a solid and qualified candidate. You're going to find someone with not only the experience you need but the drive, the motivation, and enthusiasm to join your company. Most likely, they're already working somewhere else, and they are choosing to join your company; which means you have a long term dedicated employee who wants to make a difference within your business. The job market is changing constantly, and I might give you a different answer in a month or two months from now. Something else to consider is your location. If you're in the downtown sacramento area, you're going to have a lot more candidates who are able to get to your location because there's multiple transportation opportunities available to them. If your facility is located in woodland, rockland, dixon perhaps you're going to have a lot more challenging time because many candidates who are willing to accept that $15 an hour pay rate do not have the reliable transportation needed to get to your facility. If that's you, and you find yourselves on the outskirts of town, you may need to increase your pay rate by a dollar or more from the minimum just to get an entry level candidate who's willing and able to make it to your location. These are just few of the many things. We're seeing it with the warehouse associate positions right now. Are you having these same struggles? Give us a call. We'll share more info about what we're seeing across town and how companies that we work with are overcoming those challenges to get the candidates they need. That's it for now. See you later.
